About Us
On February 1, 2021, National Yang Ming University and National Chiao Tung University officially merged. Prior to the merge, Yang-Ming University has had an international competitive edge in the research of genomics and brain sciences as well as the development of biophotonics; Chiao-Tung University, on the other hand, was renowned for its science and engineering programs and has secured a world-leading position in the fields of electronics, ICT, and photonics. After the merge, the two universities have jointly committed to AI development in medical applications, telemedicine, medical robots, IoT, wearable devices, and eco-systems for blockchain biomedicine. Combining the AI application outcomes mentioned beforehand with the strengths of the two universities in biophotonics and electronic communications, this merger of the two universities will lead the industry to generate momentum for innovation and, in turn, improve the industrial competitiveness of Taiwan.
“From Labs Advanced Potential Success” (FLAPS) is a new industrial service platform designated for users according to their needs. Flaps are high-lift devices used to increase the lift of an aircraft’s wings at a given airspeed. As the name indicates, NYCU FLAPS would like to play a role in facilitating industrial cooperation and helping startups. FLAPS up, dreams non-stop!
